I reviewed this title a few years ago on VHS and just recently bought it on DVD. Since many of you may have missed this classic little flick I wanted to make sure to update the review. Long before Anabolic made gang bang a household expression and in a time when not every girl in porn did double anal as their entrance exam, John Stagliano brought us this movie. It is tame by today's standards and some of the bangs don't even have anal (Sorry Christy fans) but he weaves the group action into a little story and for its day, Gang Bangs was quite an edgy piece of porn. It also features some very hot dancing and a guest appearance by Bruce Seven. If one were tracing the history of porn instead of reviewing this flick, Gang Bangs would be an important movie that would help shape porn for the next two decades. (There, Porn 101 lesson over, time for the bangs.)
Peter North just can't get a date. He makes several calls and is shot down at every turn. Hitting the local strip bar he talks with the bartender about the women. Is it possible for a woman to be as hot as they seem? He tells Peter about a time when he was hanging out at a biker bar and this conservatively dressed woman walked in. (Cue the flashback.) Christy Canyon sits quietly drinking her beer, but when Dan puts the moves on her, she gets really bitchy. They quickly move to give her an attitude adjustment. As rape scenes go, this one is more than tame. Just a few seconds in, she is working with the guys and doing her best to keep them all happy. Most of the scene takes place with Christy in reverse cowgirl so that her biggest and best assets are perfectly displayed. Peter is enjoying the story, but he strikes out with dancer Nina Hartley. She gets a bigger tip from Seven and ends up on stage doing a little bang of her own. John Stagliano has come a long way since this movie and so has porn on the whole. There are a couple of good sex scenes here, but none of them are shot the way they would be today. It's worth the price of the disc just to watch Christy Canyon get group-fucked and to see her incredible tits get splashed with hot cream. Erica Boyer and Karen Summers also handle multiple guys really well. The story peters out a bit after a rather interesting start, but the dance footage adds a great backdrop to the action. A couple of the scenes a too short and those used to modern-day gang bangs may lament the absence of double anal and other circus acts, but this one stands out as a pretty damn good classic, especially for fans of Christy or Erica.
