Skin Flicks Description: "Director Gerard Damiano was without a doubt at the top of the adult film industry. Every film he shot during the era was a subtle masterpiece of erotic entertainment. Damiano focused on character in his films, crafting believable scenarios and situations for them to explore. This opus focuses on the making of a porn flick, but it doesn't take the standard 'casting couch' approach to the subject. Instead, Damiano focuses on the seedier side of the business, letting his cameras capture the back stage machinations between an ambitious director and his sleazy strip club owning financier. Things really take a turn for the dramatic when youthful porn starlet Colleen Davis gets kidnapped by twisted stalker Jamie Gillis. Jamie's character has convinced himself that Colleen wants him as much as he wants her, so he abducts her and subjects her to his every wanton whim. In the end, the question lingers -- who's really taking advantage of Colleen, her director or her kidnapper? You'll be surprised by the shocking answer. Miles' Movie Review (1)

Miles' Rating:  4-5 Stars

Starring: This is a real find. Director Gerard Damiano takes us behind the scenes of the porn industry. Anthony Hudson plays a film director who is days behind in his three-week shoot and has his grotesque producer threatening certain death (career or otherwise). His problems are only compounded by his star, Colleen Davis, who's taken to her director.

Solid all the way around.

Damiano walks a fine line here. The sex is frequently raunchy, but with an emotional twist. Davis puts herself through hell for her work and love. It's when Jamie Gillis (edgy as ever) arrives that things get incendiary.

The key scene between Gillis and Colleen is brutally sexually. Gillis is convinced this porn star he's lusted after is as raw as she plays on the scene. Their carnal clash is a scorcher.

Do we really want this much reality in our porn films?

A 9. A classic that deserves to be rediscovered.
