After virtually ignoring Asia Carrera's work for a long time, then slamming her for what I called her "boring" on screen personality, Rog has come full circle. Starring: Asia Carrera is arguably the most beautiful porn star of the 90's, and also one of the best actresses in the field. This is a collection of the scenes she thinks are her best, with intervening snatches of monologue about her career and private life. In the monologue, she comes acress as an intelligent woman with a sense of humor, who's seems slightly bemused that so many people are willing to fork out their hard-earned to watch videos of someone else orally worship her ass. Very interesting and appealing if you like to think of porn stars as people, not just well-made sex dolls. The movie also stars Juli Ashton, T. T. Boy, Randy West, Nick East, Tony Tedeschi and Alex Sanders.
The monologue looks as though it was filmed in a passport photo booth, but otherwise, camerawork is good, costumes okay to excellent (yes, I know that's a strange comment to make about a porn movie), sound okay, and lighting and editing mostly pretty good.
It varies from scene to scene. Asia is so gorgeous that just watching her walk away from the camera in a skimpy bikini is more arousing that some porn films manage with an acre of skin and a truckload of silicon; she even looks cute in drag with a fake mustache. On the other hand, her 'lesbian' scene from one of the Diva movies looks more like a badly-lit fetish fashion show, and her 'ultimate fantasy' romance scene at the end is pretty tedious. Most of the scenes are better than average, though; even the monologue has some distinctly erotic moments.
Asia has tried to put as much variety into this compilation as she can: she appears in drag for a threesome, doesa b and d humiliation scene and a needlessly glossy lesbian act, throws ina surprisingly good scene from one of her early cheapies (probably my favorite scene; either that, or her session with T. T. Boy in a restaurant storeroom, which isa triumph of lust over comfort), and so on, to appeal toas many tastes as possible without adding anything that mgiht be a turn-off.
Apart from the lesbian scene, it's all good, though it deosn't include my picks for Asia's hottest scenes - seducing Tami Ann into a threesome in LAYOVER, or her scene with Leena from the MASSEUSE II. It's a good compilation, but it could've have been better.
If you think Asia's a 10, this is definetely an 8.
